I’m happy to announce, that in 2015 I’ll ride the colors of Team Specialized. It feels good to continue with this team, with whom I’ve already had many great moments.
Specialized Racing 2015
October 9th, 2014Swiss Epic
September 22nd, 2014Made it to the finish line. Not only the finish line of Swiss Epic, but also the finish line of a stellar season
Let’s end it the way we started
September 10th, 2014World Championships did not go the way, I’d hoped. I had the slowest race of my season, which just felt awful from the start to the finish. It feels pretty lame not to be able to “race the race”, but just play a secondary role in a race, especially since I’ve been racing more at the front of the races all season long. Well, never mind. I’ve had my best season ever, and that motivates me to come back strong again next year. That demands a proper off-season, which is the reason why, I’ve decided to skip my planned participation in the Cape Pioneer in october. Last year that race fitted perfectly into my season, since I was out with an injury at the beginning of september. This year the situation is very different, where I’ve been on the top of my game more or less since march. Read the rest of this entry »
World Cup Wrap Up
August 27th, 2014 Front row waving to the camera on the start line
Time flies by and already the World Cup season is over. An amazing week in the thin air of Méribel (France) included an 11th spot at the World Cup Final and an overall 8th position in the World Cup Series despite sitting out one round.
World Cup Podium in Windham
August 12th, 2014What a great race!
This world of bike racing is crazy exciting in many ways. Mostly because it’s totally unpredictable what will happen within the next 1,5 hour, when you stand on the start line. Of course you can have a pretty good idea of where you’ll end up, but the amount of factors that has to add up for you to achieve and realize your potential can be endless. On the other hand if it wasn’t for all those factors, bike racing would loose it’s value.

Mt. Sainte Anne is a classic on the world cup circuit. Actually this place has been on the world cup calendar almost every single year, since the birth of the Mountain Bike World Cup. Pretty impressive! This year they once again launched a stellar event, with a race worthy course and an amazing atmosphere. Read the rest of this entry »
National Champ 2014
July 21st, 2014Having the National Champs held only 30 minutes from my home was fantastic. Once again grabbing the National Champs jersey was even more fantastic. I raced as hard as a could, pushing myself, and often thinking “If this was a world cup race, how much would my legs hurt right now??” Well, I guess the answer is pretty clear; a little bit more, than the actual situation.. so then I tried to push it a little more. I’ve been training quite heavily in the lasts weeks leading up to this race, so the feeling of great speed was only really present on the first lap. But, my aim is to race really fast in the remaining races of the season, and that won’t be possible without some solid training Read the rest of this entry »
Little Bellas Race Academy Questions
July 13th, 2014The Little Bellas is a mentoring program for girls only. My teammate Lea Davison and her sister are the brains behind the program, which helps girls getting started with mountain bike in a fun and social way. I had the pleasure to meet some of the young girls last year and this year I will meet them again at the upcoming North American World Cups.
I just got interviewed by them and want to share some of the interesting and different Q&A’s with you below:
